After Jack Dorsey resigned from the position of CEO of Twitter, Agrawal has taken over as the company’s new CEO.
“Our purpose has never been more important,” the IIT Bombay graduate wrote in an email to his Twitter colleagues. Agrawal joined Twitter as an engineer ten years ago and was named Chief Technology Officer in 2018. “He has been my first choice for a long time because of how well he understands the company and its requirements. Parag has been at the helm of every critical decision that has aided in the turnaround of this company “Dorsey stated. Agrawal joins the ranks of Indian-origin Silicon Valley CEOs such as Sundar Pichai (Google), Satya Nadella (Microsoft), Arvind Krishna (IBM), and Adobe Shantanu Narayen (Adobe).
