Tamil Nadu Industries Minister TRB Rajaa confirmed the development on social media platform ‘X,’ stating, “We’ve been in discussions with Murata for about a year, and after multiple meetings, we are thrilled to see them kickstart production in Tamil Nadu!”

The factory is expected to be fully operational by the financial year 2026. By setting up this facility, Murata aims to gain direct experience in factory operations within India, paving the way for future manufacturing expansions in the country.

Murata’s investment in Tamil Nadu aligns with the state’s growing prominence as a global electronics manufacturing hub, further strengthening India’s position in the international supply chain for critical electronic components.
